Adventures in Saudi Arabia with the NYT!

In October I spend some time in Dammam, Saudi Arabia as part of a cultural exchange project. Myself and many other fantastic artists and creatives headed out under the National Youth Theatre banner, as well as 6 brilliant performers from the NYT company.

The experience was overwhelming, challenging and all in all pretty extraordinary.

As a feminist and environmentalist it pulled me apart in all different directions, but was an extraordinary window onto a nation in flux.

The young company of Saudi performers we worked with where enthusiastic, generous, dynamic and full of warmth and creativity.

The Secret Life of Suitcases run at the Unicorn is coming to an end! Finishes on Sunday 12th and you can still get tickets for the last few shows here.

Stowaway by Analogue on tour

Stowaway, the new Analogue show created by Hannah Barker and myself is currently on a short tour of the South East of England.

It tells the story of a man who conceals himself in the wheel arch of a plane on a flight bound from Dubai to London.

The project has been a real labour of love over the past few years, and it continues to throw up all sorts of complicated questions and resonances that we're looking forward to continuing to share and explore next year.

Secret Life of Suitcases in London

The Secret Life of Suitcases is up and running at the Unicorn in London and we're having a brilliant time.

The Unicorn is such a great building to work in, such a feeling of positivity and enthusiasm for theatre for young people.

Quite a few shows now have limited availability so get booking!

The Tin Forest South West Glasgow

The Tin Forest

I was recently Dramaturg on the Tin Forest South West community project for the National Theatre of Scotland.

It was a total honour to be part of such a fantastic piece of work, with the whole company bringing such spirit, imagination and joy to the creation of the piece; and working so hard to pull it all off.

There are many other Tin Forest events to come across Glasgow throughout the Summer, so get yourselves along!

Secret Life of Suitcases is on the Road!

And they're off! After a successful opening at Platform on 15th March, Larry is on his way around the country. We've had two lovely reviews in already from The Herald and The List and we're so excited for people all over Scotland to see the show!
