In October I spend some time in Dammam, Saudi Arabia as part of a cultural exchange project. Myself and many other fantastic artists and creatives headed out under the National Youth Theatre banner, as well as 6 brilliant performers from the NYT company.
The experience was overwhelming, challenging and all in all pretty extraordinary.
As a feminist and environmentalist it pulled me apart in all different directions, but was an extraordinary window onto a nation in flux.
The young company of Saudi performers we worked with where enthusiastic, generous, dynamic and full of warmth and creativity.
